PEER Postdoctoral scholar
Nima earned his 2nd Ph.D. at the University of Miami (UM), focusing on applying Artificial
Intelligence to Concrete Technologies for different applications. He holds a bachelor’s degree in
civil engineering and a master’s in structural and civil engineering from the University of Tabriz,
one of Iran’s top ten universities. He earned his first Ph.D. at the Iran University of Science and
Technology (IUST), focusing on steel structures, particularly in the experimental and numerical
investigation of steel-braced frames. He has been actively involved in engineering optimization,
specializing in evolutionary algorithms. His primary research interests include artificial
intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP), concrete, and
metaheuristic algorithms. His work addresses single- and multi-objective engineering
optimization, particularly solving large-scale and practical structural design problems. Recently,
he has focused on AI techniques and applications for FRP- integrated concrete structures. His
dedication has resulted in over 80 peer-reviewed publications, over 3,700 citations, and an H-
index of 39. His research interests include Optimization, Swarm Intelligence, Evolutionary
Algorithms, and ML.
