Yi Wei Daniel Tay

Email: Danieltay@ntu.edu.sg

Dr. Yi Wei Daniel Tay is a visiting scholar from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where he earned both his B.Sc. (Eng.) and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.

His research centers on Additive Manufacturing (AM), with a strong focus on the rheology of shear-thinning materials, the development of sustainable and green composites, and the process control of extrusion-based AM techniques. Dr. Tay is particularly passionate about advancing 3D concrete printing to enhance construction efficiency, minimize material waste, and promote environmentally responsible building practices.

He is actively engaged in interdisciplinary research that bridges mechanical design, materials science, and digital fabrication, aiming to pioneer innovative techniques and materials for large-scale AM applications in the built environment.
